One of our clients is looking for a flexible care assistant to join their team. Patients with learning disabilities, mental health issues, personality disorders, autism and challenging behaviours, who are detained under the Mental Health Act.

Our clients are a leading specialist healthcare provider, with Hospitals and centres throughout England, delivering wide-ranging services in Adult Mental Health and Learning Disabilities, Specialist Brain Injury, Child and Adult Mental Health Services, including eating disorders, and social care for children with special needs.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, and as such, it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Schedule:

Day shift
Night shift

Essential:

· NVQ/QCF Level 2 Health and Social Care

· Experience in a care setting preferred but not essential.

Must hold Control & Restrain certificate.

· Experience working with young people and/or adults with Learning disabilities, autism, and mental health problems preferred but not essential.

Role and Responsibilities:

· You will ensure the highest standard of care and support is delivered to our clients’ service uses

· Encompassing all activities of daily living.

· You will act as a role model and will be actively involved in engaging service users with daily activities, educational and behavioural support programmes and leisure/recreational activities.

· Help with food preparations, medication, housework, laundry and shopping

· Assist service users to access the community, participate in hobbies and visit places of interest.

· You will work a mixture of days and night shifts, which will include weekends on a rota system
