Brief Description

The position of Housekeeper involves maintaining a clean, organised, and comfortable environment for residents or guests. As a Housekeeper, you will ensure that living spaces are well-maintained, sanitised, and aesthetically pleasing, contributing to a positive experience for all occupants.

Tasks

·       Clean and tidy living areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, and common spaces, following established cleaning procedures and standards.

·       Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect surfaces to maintain cleanliness and hygiene.

·       Make beds, change linen, and replace towels to ensure a fresh and inviting atmosphere for residents or guests.

·       Empty trash bins, dispose of waste and properly handle recycling materials.

·       Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.

·       Collaborate with other housekeeping team members to ensure efficient and effective cleaning operations.

·       Respond promptly to guest or resident requests for housekeeping services and address any specific cleaning preferences or needs.

·       Report any maintenance or repair issues observed during cleaning activities to the appropriate department.

·       Follow health and safety guidelines to prevent accidents, promote safe work practices, and ensure the well-being of occupants and staff.

·       Uphold a professional and courteous demeanour when interacting with residents, guests, and colleagues.

Qualifications and Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent. Additional vocational training or certification in housekeeping is a plus.
Proven experience as a Housekeeper, Cleaner, or similar role, with a strong understanding of cleaning techniques and standards.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organised environment.
Ability to use cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies safely and effectively.
Strong communication skills to interact with residents, guests, and team members.
Physical stamina and the ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying cleaning equipment and supplies.
Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to follow cleaning protocols.
Knowledge of basic safety practices and procedures related to cleaning and sanitation.
