Job Description
As an Environmental Enforcement Officer, you will be responsible for the promotion and enforcement of legislation about dropping litter, dog fouling, fly-tipping, anti-social behaviour, street trading, breaches of local bylaws and other related contraventions as required.
You will monitor and enforce within our client Borough by foot patrol
You’ll respond to the councillor and public enquiries /complaints regarding local environmental quality and anti-social behaviour
Issue Fixed Penalty Notices for offences where appropriate
Record witness statements and conduct interviews under caution when necessary
Validate and verify the personal details of offenders
Prepare and submit relevant cases for prosecution and assist legal services in presenting prosecution cases to the court.
Ensure effective and efficient recording of work details and case progression, including the use of computer software
Job Requirements
Experience in undertaking enforcement work
Experience in carrying out awareness-raising/promotional work
Knowledge of environmental services such as cleansing and waste collection
Reliable, self-motivated, and capable of dealing with potentially hostile people/situations
Ability to deal with complaints and resolve complex issues
Full clean driving licence – essential, ability to ride a pedal cycle
